"Kings Park has taken a pro-active approach to water conservation, with the assistance of Glen Eira Council and Sports and recreation Victoria, Kings Park has reduced its water consumption by over 80%. Kings Parks use of bore water has reduced the impact on our drinking water supplies. At Kings Park we continue to strive to minimise our impact on the environment."
Water Restrictions Stage 3A October 2007 Notice to all players and Coaching staff. Our bore water will not be in sufficient quantities to maintain watering of courts during dry weather. We need to use some mains pressure to fully use 8 courts. To abide by the 3A restrictions, watering of courts must be limited to the following. Courts can be watered prior to commencement of play and prior to the commencement of each set or rubber. This also applies to coaching and social play. Please water fence to fence and maximum watering time of 5 minutes per full court. WATERING IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY OTHER TIME. South East Water has notification of our bore water use and they will monitor our use from meter readings. Excess use could result in the closure of courts. This is a committee decision made in the interest of our members to enable maximum use of courts. G.Muir Maintenance Committee |
